Laura Ball
Patient Relations

Laura has been calling North Carolina home for 29 years.
She was born in Chicago and has also lived in Colorado.
She is the patient relations coordinator and has her degree
in accounting. She has worked in the orthodontic field for 15
years. She has two wonderful daughters, Amy, who is 23 years
old, and Amber, who is 18 and will be going away to school in the fall.
She has many hobbies, but her favorites are gardening, painting, reading and
swimming. She has two rescued dogs that are very much a part of the family, Mercedes and Bailey. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and friends. She has enjoyed watching Dr. McMillian’s practice grow from the very beginning to the awesome office it is today.

Whitney Perez
Patient Relations

Whitney was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was raised in Summerfield, NC. She graduated from Wesleyan Academy and attended UNC-G. She also graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at GTCC and has been an orthodontic assistant for two years. Whitney enjoys working with orthodontic patients, helping them improve their smiles and building their self-confidence. Whitney is married to Joey Perez and they are expecting their first child – a girl, ironically, on Labor Day ’06. She enjoys shopping and hanging out with family and friends.

Suzanne Lax
Treatment Coordinator

Suzanne was born and raised in Cocoa Beach, Florida and has lived in North Carolina for the past seven years. She had the opportunity to work the summer after high school at a family friend’s dental office and discovered she had found her calling! Suzanne earned an Associate of Arts degree at Daytona Beach Community College, received her dental radiology credentials at Valencia Community College and although she is an avid Florida State fan, received her dental assisting credentials at the University of Florida. Suzanne has been in various aspects of the dental field for over 15 years including assisting and front office work in general dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics with oral surgery and most enjoyable, orthodontics. Suzanne enjoys seeing the confidence patients build during their journey to a beautiful smile.

Suzanne is newly married and spends most weekends watching her husband hard at work in the Nascar Busch Racing series. She has a nine-year-old stepdaughter, Chelsea, a baby iguana named Popeye and a fuzzy brown hamster named Raven.

Lisa Roach
Treatment Coordinator

Lisa was born and raised in Oak Ridge and now resides in Summerfield, NC. She graduated from Northwest Guilford High School and from GTCC’s dental assisting program. She also completed the orthodontic assisting program at UNC-CH. For the next twelve years, she worked for another local orthodontist, where she worked as an assistant, records tech, front desk coordinator, treatment coordinator and office manager. Through this time, she developed a passion and love for orthodontics and orthodontic patients. She finds it very rewarding to educate and assist the patients and their families throughout their orthodontic treatment.

Lisa has just returned to the orthodontic field, after taking time to be with her precious blessings; Chelsea (12), Carleigh (9) and Zaccary (6). She is married to a wonderful man, Bill, who is an independent insurance broker and an avid golfer. Their kids keep them very busy on the soccer fields and with tumbling and trampoline practices and meets, but as a family, they love going to the beach, spending time on their boat or just snuggling together to watch a movie. When Lisa is not working, shopping, cleaning, doing laundry, running carpool, etc. You will find her playing her favorite sport, tennis!!

Kristin Hutcherson
Orthodontic Assistant

Kristin began working with Dr. McMillian in 2000, just before completing the office technology program at Randolph Community College. She was hired part time until finishing college and began working in the lab. She then decided to attend classes at GTCC for dental radiology and was hired full time to take diagnostic records and work in the lab. She loves to watch new smiles being developed! She enjoys working with Dr. McMillian because she strives very hard to make her patients very happy and leave our office with a smile.

Kristin was born and raised in Level Cross, North Carolina. She is now living in Asheboro, NC with her wonderful husband, Brandon, who is self-employed and stays very busy. They have a three year old son, Walker, who keeps them on their toes, and a BIG dog, Hooch, which is a bull mastiff. The family loves to spend a lot of time outside playing in the yard, spending time with neighbors, cooking out and watching movies. When she has a moment of peace she likes to relax.

Alyssha Bentley
Orthodontic Assistant

Alyssha has been an orthodontic assistant for seven years. She started working with Dr. McMillian during her senior year of high school on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. After she graduated in May of 1999, Dr. McMillian began office training her. She loves seeing the before and after results on patients, once treatment is complete.

When Alyssha is not at work, she loves spending time with her husband of two years; Brandon. They have five dogs; a Great Dane – Layla, a Cocker Spaniel – Gracie, a Shepherd/Chow mix – Daisy, a Rottweiler mix – Roscoe P., and Duke – they’re not too sure what he is! When they can find someone to dog sit, they like going to the mountains. They live in Kernersville, NC, which is close to both of their families.

Stormie Chipman
Orthodontic Assistant

Stormie is a Greensboro native. She graduated from Northwest Guilford High School and from the Dental Assisting Program at GTCC. She has been an orthodontic assistant for five years. She enjoys making people feel more confident and raising their self-esteem by helping create a more beautiful smile for them. Stormie has been happily married for two years, and she and her husband have a cat named Miller. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors.

Kimberly Edwards
Orthodontic Assistant

Kimberly lives in Randleman, NC. Even though she graduated for NCSU in 2000, Dr. McMillian has allowed her to work in her office and has been with her as an orthodontic assistant for 3 ½ years. Meeting people and watching their smiles transform into one that they are more happy and confident with is what she finds most rewarding about working in the orthodontic field. She enjoys scrapbooking, reading, dancing and going to the gym (once she gets there). She also plays the piano for Grace Baptist Church.

Angie Flynn
Orthodontic Assistant

Angie is a native of Greensboro. She graduated from Vandalia Christian School and from the dental assisting program at Alamance Community College. She has been an orthodontic assistant for 11 years and has worked for Dr. McMillian for seven of those years. She has been married to her wonderful husband for seven years and they have been blessed with two beautiful children, Drew (5) and Shea (3). In her spare time, she enjoys playing softball, shopping, cooking, working in her yard and being with family and friends. She also takes pleasure in being very involved with her wonderful church family at Lebanon Baptist Church in McLeansville. She works part-time so that she can be home with her children, but the time she is in the office she truly enjoys building relationships with our great patients, generous boss and fun staff.
